I suspect the world would be better if that percentage were even greater.
I’m curious about Gnomedex 5.0
Take a look at their announcement, especially concentrating on the What is Gnomedex… section.
Someone, please, explain it to me. Why is Gnomedex significant?

If Dave Winer never hears of me it’s more his loss than mine, sad to say.
To say that I could not care less about the “intelligentsia” and “glitterati” of blogging would be a collosal understatement.

I’m here, and I’d say the number one reason to attend is the people, and the opportunity to network. Both with the people presenting (pretty well known), and the other attendees. The proceedings of the conference are being streamed, podcast, and video blogged, so you’re not getting anything here that you couldn’t get otherwise. But what you do get is the opportunity to talk to incredibly smart people, and introduce yourself to them. I’ve been astounded at how many people who have recognized my name and/or URL here – including Dave Winer and Steve Gillmor! :-O
