I suspect the world would be better if that percentage were even greater.
Cooking For Engineers
Occasionally I’ll post about some of my culinary endeavors. A few years back I decided to start trying to improve the quality of the food I make, and began reading books like McGee’s On Food and Cooking and watching lots of cooking shows. I’m beginning to try to find some good cooking blogs, and so far Cooking for Engineers is exactly what I’m looking for: good basic hints, recipes and techniques, with good descriptions of the methodology. Far too many books on cooking are just magic: do this, and it tastes good. Trying to understand how recipes work is really what cooking is all about, and this blog captures that really well. we might call it engineering food. I’ve seen the great site Cooking for Engineers mentioned on at least couple of blogs (Raymond Chen and Brainwagon ). Also noteworthy in the Cooking for Engineers category are cooks Alton Brown and Peter Barham (The Science of Cooking) whose books provide
