Day 4, A Stanley Sweetheart level

More properly a garage gem, here is my 24" Stanley Sweetheart Level, a No. 0. I'm not an expert on Stanley tools, but my understanding is that the Sweetheart lines were made between 1919 and 1935, which makes this at least 90 years old. It appears to be made from cherry and brass. It was a bit dusty looking when I got it at a garage sale, but a little scrubbing with Murphy's Oil Soap and some buffing with my beeswax/mineral oil polish, and its entirely presentable. Still seems to be dead accurate, I reach for it when I need something a bit bigger than the little 6" $3 torpedo level that is magnetized that I keep stuck to the side of my first aid cabinet.

I've got a smaller Stanley that might make an appearance in a later edition of this series.

May the small things in your life bring you joy.
